At Greenfield Academy, we want children to understand that they can make a positive difference to the lives of others and the community around them.
Through community engagement, fundraising, volunteering and social action, children have opportunities to contribute to causes that matter, support others and develop a greater understanding of their role as active and responsible citizens.
Making a Positive Difference
Throughout their time at Greenfield, children have opportunities to:
- support local and national charities
- take part in fundraising and awareness campaigns
- contribute to community projects
- volunteer their time and skills
- support school and community events
- learn about issues affecting their local, national and global communities.
These experiences help children understand the importance of kindness, responsibility and making a positive contribution to society.
Social Action
Social action encourages children to identify issues they care about and consider how they can help make a difference.
Through these opportunities, children develop important qualities including:
- empathy and respect
- teamwork and communication
- initiative and responsibility
- confidence and leadership
- an understanding of different people and communities.
This brings our values of Proud, Ambitious and Kind to life and helps children develop the character needed to become active citizens.
Working With Our Community
We value our relationships with local organisations, charities, employers and community partners.
Working with others provides children with opportunities to learn about their community, meet people from different backgrounds and understand how individuals and organisations can work together to bring about positive change.
Community in Action
Throughout the year, children take part in a range of charity, fundraising, volunteering and community activities.
Our community programme continues to develop throughout the year as new opportunities arise. We will update this page to celebrate children’s contributions and share the difference they are making.
