New School Build
Welcome to the Greenfield Academy ‘New School Build’ area on our website.
We are all incredibly excited about our new build. The facility will provide us with state-of-the-art classrooms and spaces where our children and the wider community can enjoy learning for many years to come.
The entire project consists of a brand-new teaching block, an extension to our sports hall, and a full refurbishment of the administration, Music, Drama and dining areas, the main hall, and the development of a new Learning Resource Centre (LRC). The project is due for completion in October 2026, and we intend to occupy the building after the October half term. In addition, all outdoor communal and play areas for the students will be created.
As you can see from the images, work is progressing very well. The new block is taking shape, with all windows installed and the brickwork nearing completion. Internal works are ongoing, and staff have been working closely with ESH, our building partners, to ensure that the rooms are superbly fitted out and contain everything our children need to make the best possible progress in all their subjects.
Within the new block, we have all our Design and Technology specialist areas, including Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Art and Design, and ICT. The middle floor houses classrooms for academic subjects, while Science labs and studios are located on the top floor. Designated ICT rooms are spread throughout the building.
The sports hall is benefitting from an extension that will include new changing rooms and an activity studio. This facility is also designed for community use, with separate entrances and dedicated community parking.
The refurbished areas will include new Music and Drama facilities, the main reception and staff areas, and a new Learning Resource Centre featuring a library, ICT facilities, breakout spaces, and areas for small-group and individual work. The dining hall and main hall are also being refurbished. This part of the building will include a new corridor to enable smooth transition between the refurbished areas and the new block, and it will also house our additional needs area, ‘The Emerald Room’, along with offices and student toilets.
